Republicans allowed CHIP, the (Children’s Health Insurance Program) to expire. This is an unconscionable attack on the health and welfare of American children! CHIP was created under the Clinton Administration in 1997 with BIPARTISAN support. It provided coverage for children of low and moderate income families. It provided immunizations, routine checkups, and doctor visits for sick children. During it’s tenure, the numbers of uninsured children dropped nearly 14%.
When they allowed the deadline to pass at midnight, on September 30, Republicans did not simply play another hand in their larger efforts to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act. This time, they have assaulted the most valuable component of our civilization — our children.
I will not abide by this. I will fight for the future of our country and the health of all our citizens — especially our children.
Help me take on the other side, by helping me get to Washington so that YOU have a voice!

If you would like to join New Mexico’s ACA Enrollment Project (an Indivisible project), here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/NewMexicoACAproject/
We need people from every county to take part. We are putting together information on how to enroll in each county/town/city in New Mexico, and what various groups and people and resources are available.
Leadership rolls are available in each county.
Please “like” and share widely!
Happy Birthday, President Jimmy Carter! October 1, 1924 (age 93)
My sister, Sandy Martinez, and I, at the New Mexico Federation of Democratic Women annual meeting and banquet. We had so much fun talking to women from across the state!
I got the chance to meet Bill Richardson today at the NMFDW annual luncheon, and talk with him for a bit. He gave me some really great advice and I appreciate him taking time to talk with me!
Tom Price resigned because of the furor he caused over chartering flights and charging it to the American People. Thoughts?
BALANCING THE BUDGET will need to be addressed when I’m your Congressperson.
I believe we cannot put our excesses on our children’s future. We must not steal from working families and seniors. To strengthen our economy, our Middle and Working Class MUST come first! Corporate welfare, which encourages companies to send our jobs overseas, must be reined in. And the record profits seen by big oil companies and Wall Street must be shifted back into the pockets of our working people.
I will reach across the aisle to find common sense solutions to these problems.
What are your thoughts? I will be representing ALL people of CD2, and even all of New Mexico. I am interested in learning about your ideas, and your experiences.
And, please help fund my campaign so I can work for you! It’s expensive to run for Congress, and I need your help! Please donate, and/or volunteer. I need $3000 by the end of this week to pay campaign bills such as printing, postage, and travel expenses. Click this link (or copy/paste into your searchbar):
