On the way home from Carlsbad we stopped at this tiny park just west of Lincoln. This unassuming location was a CCC camp, then an unemployed girl’s camp, and after the start of WWII became a Japanese Internment Camp. Nothing remains of the buildings that once housed so many. It was emotionally moving just to stand on this ground and think of the hope, and the despair, of those who once tread the same land.
