Maribel Trujillo Diaz was deported for doing nothing. She was low hanging fruit, who did everything right. She has no criminal record. She shouldn’t have been on the radar. But, she was easy to find, easy to grab, and easy to deport. She had applied for asylum twice. Her third application is PENDING right now! Why was she deported with an active asylum application? Especially one that may have merit, as it’s based on her father having been kidnapped, and her family being targeted by a cartel. What is WRONG with our country?

I’m heading to Albuquerque soon for an Emerge NM event! It should be interesting. It’s a discussion of this past legislative session in Santa Fe and a look at bills that were tabled or vetoed and see what might come next.

Steve Pearce demands probe into whether UNM violated the law in its use of fetal tissue for research. UNM says it’s never bought or sold tissue & operates within the law. It’s fine to have oversight, but he has used this to have a “press conference” and get publicity for his morality project. It looks like the response was not what he expected.
