Today, I’m incredibly honored to receive the endorsement of Alfredo Dominguez, founding member of UWUA Local 51. Mr. Dominguez has served in the New Mexico National Guard for 6 years and he has worked over 26 years for the City of Roswell.
“There are many problems that we need to solve here in New Mexico and as a nation. The people who work for a living are having to work longer hours to survive. There are families where both parents work full-time and one works a part-time job, as well. They live from week to week and are two paychecks away from financial ruin – while a few individuals have more money than they can possibly spend.
Our air and water are being polluted while billionaires get richer. Our nation’s election was attacked by Putin and our president and Republican representatives do not want to sanction Russia. Pharmaceutical companies developed and marketed deadly drugs with a concern for profit over the general welfare of our population. People can legally buy battlefield rifles with large capacity magazines. Our veterans are not getting adequate health care. Most people struggle to buy health insurance. Many people do without health care.
I ask that New Mexicans join me in voting for Mad Hildebrandt for Congress in the June primary. No one can solve these problems fully. But, by working together and with Mad Hildebrandt representing our views in Washington, we can make this much better. She will work for you. She will represent you. Join me in working toward a republic that our children can thrive in.”
-Alfredo Dominguez
Today, CNN commentator and former Pennsylvania GOP Senator Rick Santorum said that instead of protesting for gun control legislation, students should take CPR classes and prepare for active shooter scenarios.
My response? Every person should know basic First Aid and CPR. But preparation for the trauma of these shooting victims is Paramedic and Battlefield Medic level. Our children should not have to “expect” to be attacked and murdered in the classroom. Any country that tries to normalize such an expectation is in an ethical crisis, and a paradigm shift is imperative.

Fear has no place in our schools. Throughout our country today – and here in my small town of Socorro – children and adults are passionately speaking up for an end to gun violence. As a veteran, gun owner, and supporter of the Second Ammendment, I believe it’s a moral imperative to enact common sense gun laws to protect our children and our future. #neveragain #enoughisenough #getmad www.mad4nm.com
On this historic day I will be joining the March for Our Lives in Socorro, New Mexico. Let’s stand together for our children and for common sense. #neveragain #getmad

From today’s Retake Our Democracy blog by Paul Gibson: “This is beyond cool. One techie who has no idea what he is doing has raised over $1 million and distributed those funds to 9 progressive House candidates, none supported by the DCCC. And one is from New Mexico’s District 2. Amazing story.”
I’m honored and proud to be NM’s Congressional District 2 Great Slate candidate and part of the movement to bring progressive values to Washington! Click to read more.
