The Supreme Court is going to hear the case of a bakery which refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. This case hearkens back to Civil Rights battles of the twentieth century when businesses defended their prejudices by claiming that black patrons could simply obtain the same services elsewhere. As we know, it isn’t that “simple,” and prejudice is prejudice. We must each fight the good fight – for equality and equal treatment for everyone regardless of circumstance, and regardless of personally held beliefs.
